Les is a recognised authority in the downstream oil, gas and energy insurance market and acknowledged as such by clients and his peers in the insurance broking and underwriting fraternity. He maintains an exceptional professional record, having provided expertise to all the major downstream oil, gas, and petrochemical producers globally, which in turn has given him an unrivalled insight to risk and insurance challenges across the industry. An accomplished market specialist, Les has designed and implemented highly innovative and complex insurance and reinsurance solutions throughout his career which spans over 40 years. Predominantly based in London his impressive commercial, risk, and insurance knowledge has been acquired while holding senior technical and client leaderships positions in most of the major international Lloyds broking houses. This extends to include a deep understanding of reinsurance practice in all major international centres and an understanding of insurance regulation in numerous jurisdictions.
Among his many accomplishments, Les has acted as Client Advocate for the largest oil producer in the world, as well as the world’s largest LNG producer, representing their interests in the international energy insurance marketplace.

Les provides the benefit of his extensive technical insurance knowledge and industry insight to clients, either on a specific project basis or in support of the wider team. Being a lateral thinker he is able to concisely determine key issues, challenge perceived wisdom, and develop pertinent solutions.
